That’s great that your mom got to have her picture taken with Willie. I’ll bet it was a thrill. I like a lot of his songs, but Family Bible is my favorite. It was the first one I had heard by him back in the ’60s and I played it on guitar backing up a singer then. It just always stuck with me.
He didn’t write City of New Orleans. That was the late great Steve Goodman.
