With the exception of Allison Krause and maybe a few others, modern country music turns me off completely, particularly Toby Keith, Alan Jackson and Gretchen Wilson (although she is a looker). I guess I have just really like the sounds that guys like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Johnny Cash created or performed. And I love Patsy Cline’s voice and the music in her songs. It seems like Country music these days is radically different, the way that soul music these days is not what it was in the 60′s, 70′s and even early 80′s. Does anyone feel this way? Is there something lacking? Has it gotten watered down? Am I wrong about this? Answers are welcome.
